Devon is 6' 4" and 195lbs trying to climb a hallway wall made of drywall. The following photo is the result.

I forget to write in here because I live so close to so many siblings. At any rate, not a whole lot going on in my area. Working with two budding companies trying to create a substantial web presence. Nelson & Associates is a gun distributor based out of Green Bay and New Paradigm is a home theater business planting its roots in Fond du Lac.

Ummmm, that's all she wrote for now. FYI, the title of this post is from the Simpsons.

Parent's Visit, Hiking, and Birthdays

Well, Mom and Dad's visit has come and gone, and besides from almost falling from scrambling up a mountain face them I think they had a great time! Apparently Dad still lies in bed at night and moans 'We should never have gone on that Falls hike.' but what doesn't almost kill you isn't worth doing! We got some great pictures and great memories.

The six-mile-one-way-3000ft-ascent is pretty challenging, but the reward is a magnificent crystal clear lake. I was able to stay in the lake for about 5 seconds before succumbing to the icy waters.

Of course what goes up must come down. Taylor and I stayed overnight, which meant hauling gear all the way to the top. For the future, we decided a day trip would be much more enjoyable. Along the way you may find furry little critters to keep you company.

Bait and Switch Scum

So Taylor is actively looking for a new SLR camera for her trip to Thailand. She sent me an email this morning about an amazing deal for the Nikon D60 at http://www.elitecamcorders.com. The link she gave me showed that the camera was already in her shopping cart. The site looked sketchy to me so I did a quick Google search and found several articles mentioning the horrible experiences customers had with the website. Frantically I called, emailed, and txted her so she wouldn't get her credit card stolen and fortunately was able to reach her in time.

Word to the wise: Not only research the product you want to buy, but research who you are buying from!

I know for a fact that younger sister *cough* Katelyn has already been a victim to the bait-and-switch scam when she was buying a camera a couple years ago. And when you are reading testimonials, don't just read the ones hosted by the seller, but 3rd party sites where you'll get the full story. Seems like common sense, but these sites are tricky. That link is the various company names that elitecamcorders go under. There are literally thousands of people who are taken for a loop because they see an attractive price and throw caution to the wind.

Hello all, a little update from Vail Co for you. I just got hired by the Antlers Lodge which essentially is a bunch of privately owned condos that get rented out by a front desk while the owners are not there.

Just about finished with the website I was contracted to build. Just a couple things here and there to brush up (mostly translations) but the site is live and working just fine. If you are super bored you can take a look at it at casaconstructionbook.com.

I got a new phone number you can reach me at. It is my Google voice number which means that at the very least I'll have it forever (or longer than my variety of other numbers). It is ****-OH-SNAP (***-*64-7627; eat your heart out Devon). All it does is pretty much forward to my existing phone number. Next time I get a new number I'll probably just circulate my Google one (props if you start using it early).

Taylor had her wisdom teeth removed this Tuesday and has been looking like a chipmunk ever since. Luckily I'm a very good nurse so she is recovering beautifully.

Mom and Dad are scheduled to come visit on Monday and I am really looking forward to spending some time with them in Vail! I'm thinking we'll mostly do hiking and enjoying the spectacular views of the Colorado Rockies.
